The Netflix film follows Gallo, a divorced man who does not care for his family as much as he cares for his work. His ex-wife, Alicia, is tired of his habit of avoiding responsibilities. So, she decides to move to another country with their son, Benito. Unfortunately, she loses her life before she can leave. As a result, Gallo became Benito's only guardian.

Gallo struggles with the emotional burden, which he ignored for many years. While trying to process this big change, he realizes something even more shocking. He learns that Benito is not his biological son. Benito wants to know who his actual father is. Gallo respects his wishes and joins him on the same quest. Diana (Mayra Hermosillo), Benito's psychologist, joins them.

Diana leads Gallo and Benito toward Enrique Vega, a successful businessman with whom Alicia had worked before. So, they find a way to cross paths with this man. However, unlike what they expected, Enrique does not acknowledge any relationship to either Alicia or Benito.

It is possible that Enrique is Benito's father, but Alicia did not inform him about her pregnancy to avoid further complications. She might have hoped Gallo would provide her son with a safe and sound future, but that didn't work out as well either.

The father-son duo search for Benito's biological father but to no avail. Around this time, Gallo faced some work-related complications that put his career in jeopardy.
