The Conjuring is a 2013 American supernatural horror movie directed by James Wan and scripted by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson play Ed and Lorraine Warren, paranormal investigators and writers linked to popular haunting cases. Their allegedly authentic reports served as the basis for the Amityville Horror book and movie series. The Warrens aided the Perron family, who in 1971, began to have more unsettling things happen in their Rhode Island farmhouse.
Ed Warren and Lorraine, paranormal investigators and demonologists, were invited to the house of Carolyn and Roger Perron in 1971. After relocating to a remote farmhouse, the Perrons and their five daughters—Andrea, Nancy, Christine, Cindy, and April—have witnessed an unknown being. At first, the manifestations are very not dangerous, but as the Warrens learn of the house's terrible past, things rapidly spiral out of hand.
The movie was released in the United States and Canada on July 19, 2013, by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema.
