Blumberg shed light on the motive and intention of the music created. He says:

"We started talking about our approach, how the music should sound. We wanted the performances to be live, like something was happening."

He also elaborated in the interview about the site-specific sounds that he had recorded and used in the score. It had authentically brought out the essence of the storyline about its time and space.

Daniel Blumberg further elucidates:

"It is a time based medium in the sense that the scenes are very precise, the length. That was challenging, to sort of retain that live quality and then of course hit the beats of the edit. Its a good challenge, though because when you get to the end of it, I think it creates something that feels alive."

Daniel Blumberg also talked about the usage of live music during the filming of The Brutalist. It is interesting to note that the scenes and the music were working together, as opposed to a score being added in the edit. He states:

"Brady wanted to shoot certain scenes to music. The overture, so this scene where Adrien's character László's coming essentially from the Holocaust, from the camps, into America, was being blasted out on the speakers. Adrien could move to the music."

In an interview with Crack Magazine, Daniel Blumberg mentioned that they took a 'minimalistic' approach in making the film's score.
