What do we know about its story?

In the story of The Ballad Of Wallis Island, Charles, who is an ardent fan of Herb McGwyer and Nell Mortimer, strives to get them together on an island to perform for him. However, the musical duo share a deep history as they have been romantically involved in the past, as well as collaborated together as artists.

Owing to Charles's incredible luck at the lottery, it enables him to invite these artists to perform. In the trailer, we witness a string of hilarious moments where we see a clumsy Charles and an equally uncomfortable McGwyer. The musician is surprised upon knowing that he shall be performing only for one person.

Adding more to McGwyer's miseries, his ex-partner Nell also arrives there, that too along with her present partner Michael. In the course of the trailer, we do witness warm, heartfelt moments between McGwyer and Nell, as they revisit their journey together as artists. There is a moment when Nell says to Herb McGwyer, "I miss our music.".

The trailer also gives a sense of the core themes the film touches upon, which could possibly be about the act of letting go, grief, and healing.

One of the funniest moments has to be the awkward scene between McGwyer and Charles, when McGwyer asks him to shut the door as he is about to change. Charles goes to shut the door, but he stays inside the room. Upon Herb clarifying it to him again, Charles utters,

"Oh my gosh I am so sorry. I am not really used to having guests"

Charles is not just a usual fan but is truly a devoted fan. He even holds one of McGwyer's guitars that he has found at an auction. Amidst all the hilarity, there is a deeper reasoning behind Charles' relentless efforts to make this event happen.

To witness what it actually means to him, one must experience the wholesome 'ballad' of countless emotions and stories in The Ballad of Wallis Island.
