Former President Donald Trump has been as busy as ever with the upcoming Presidential Elections for 2024 against Vice President Kamala Harris. Before entering the world of politics, Trump was a hardcore businessman with a massive network everywhere around the world.

Trump often finds himself in the limelight for legal altercations or promoting his political campaigns. However, this time, he’s going to be in the spotlight for his biopic: The Apprentice, set to release on October 11, 2024.

The Apprentice will explore the events of Trump’s life leading to the path of politics, from his early days as a negotiator, his first marriage to Ivana Marie, and his story of becoming a billionaire. Overall, the movie will discuss how Trump became the man he is under the consulship of late politician Roy Cohn.

The movie also shares snippets of how Trump allegedly became “ruthless” and would “do anything” to win in any situation. After premiering at the 77th Cannes Film Festival held between the 14th and 25th of May, 2024, a representative from The Hollywood Reporter summarized the upcoming biography saying it’s a “reverse reflection of the mentorship process” between Cohn and Trump.

When will The Apprentice release?

The Apprentice is slated to release on October 11, 2024, later this year. The biopic is written by Gabriel Sherman and directed by Ali Abbasi. Before its official release in the US on the appointed date, the movie is also set to premiere during the Toronto Film Festival, later this year.

With regards to the international release, not much is known at the moment, except that it’ll appear in theatres across the UK and Ireland on October 18, 2024, per Studio Canal. Although nothing is set in stone, talks of it releasing on OTT are reportedly underway.

What is the plot for The Apprentice?

The plot for The Apprentice is primarily centered around a young Donald Trump under the mentorship of the late attorney Roy Cohn.

The story is set around the 1970s when Trump, who was from an aristocratic family decided to embark on a journey to make a name for himself. During the 70s, New York was a booming business capital of the world.

Furthermore, it was also late lawyer Roy Cohn’s home base for practicing law and building connections. The movie narrates the journey of how Trump became the person we all know today, under Cohn’s guidance.

With Trump’s penchant for continually upskilling, amassing wealth, and remaining well-connected, Cohn (in the movie) decides to invest in his life as a mentor. To Cohn, Trump is “the perfect protege” and wants to equip him with all the tools necessary for success in his book: “Do whatever it takes to win.”

Is there a trailer for The Apprentice?

There is indeed a trailer for The Apprentice, which was released earlier this week on Tuesday. The trailer begins with a glimpse of Stan donning Trump’s iconic hair, attempting to secure a meeting with a bigwig who didn’t know Trump’s name, despite his family’s riches. The scene gradually shifts to snippets of a busy New York during the day and night.

Jeremy Strong’s character Cohn also appears; Trump was flabbergasted on meeting the one and only Cohn and called him “brutal” - a trait Cohn nonchalantly accepts. The scene continues with Cohn sharing his recipe for securing multiple victories. The scene kept shifting to Trump climbing his way up the corporate ladder, meeting Ivana, and so on. In the trailer, Strong narrated,

“Attack, attack, attack! Admit nothing, deny everything; no matter what happens, you claim victory and never admit defeat.”

In a chilling tone, he then stated,

“You have to be willing to do anything to anyone to win.”

Glimpses of a fight between Ivana and Trump also appear with the trailer ending with Stan staring intently at the badge reading: “Make America Great Again!”

Trump has yet to issue an official response on the upcoming biopic which will release ahead of the 2024 Presidential Elections.
