The Brutalist lead Adrien Brody was honored with the Best Male Actor Award at the 82nd Golden Globes Award on January 5, 2025.

In Brady Corbet's period film The Brutalist, Adrien Brody has impeccably essayed the character of a noted architect named László Tóth. He is a Jewish-Hungarian man who sets foot on the foreign land of America for a new beginning after facing the horrors of the Holocaust.

Along with Adrien Brody, the fellow nominees of the category of Best Male Actor at the Golden Globes were Timothée Chalamet (for his role in A Complete Unknown), Sebastian Stan (for his role in The Apprentice), Colman Domingo (for his role in Sing Sing) and Ralph Fiennes (for his role in Conclave).

In his Golden Globe acceptance speech, Adrien Brody expressed a heartfelt appreciation and admiration for his fellow nominees, both in the Best Actor category and the ones for The Brutalist.

He mentioned director Brady Corbet, along with Mona Fastvold, who co-wrote the script of the film with Corbet, and the composer Daniel Blumberg.

Taking The Brutalist's elemental theme as its reference point, Adrien Brody weaved a beautiful note of acknowledgment as he spoke:

"At the core of 'The Brutalist', it is really a story about the human capacity for creation, so I'd be remiss to not acknowledge my fellow nominees, Daniel, Colman, Timmy, Sebastian, Sebastian, Ralph. You guys really just, you reach such heights with your work, and you are such inspirations to me. To my- God, Brady and Mona, I love you guys- thank you for giving me wings. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of building this triumph and monument to humanity and the arts."

In his earnest Golden Globe acceptance speech for The Brutalist, Adrien Brody opened up his heart in this moment of vulnerability. With his eyes welling up, he extended his gratitude to the entire team of The Brutalist. Adrien Brody shared heartfelt words of gratefulness and love for his parents and partner, Georgina Chapman.

Brody also shared a bit about his personal history and ancestral roots in his speech, reflecting his deep, emotional connection with the film and his character, László.

He ended his speech with powerful and poignant words of solidarity with people who survived wars, as well as the ones who are immigrants. Adrien Brody shared his hope for the film to bring hope and strength to them as he stated:

"You know, this story is really the character’s journey is very reminiscent of my mother’s and my ancestral journey of fleeing the horrors of war and coming to this great country. And you know, I owe so much to my mother and my grandparents for their sacrifice, and although I do not know fully how to express all of the challenges that you have faced and experienced, and the many people who have struggled immigrating to this country, I hope that this work stands to lift you up a bit and to give you a voice. I’m so grateful. I will cherish this moment forever. Thank you."

Along with Adrien Brody, The Brutalist won Best Motion Picture- Drama and director Brady Corbet won Best Director- Motion Picture at the Golden Globes. Corbet had also been nominated for Best Screenplay- Motion Picture. Composer Daniel Blumberg also earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score.

Along with them, The Brutalist actors Guy Pearce and Felicity Jones were nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture, respectively.
