Snoop Dogg recently performed at the Crypto Ball, which was held in anticipation of Donald Trump's inauguration as president of the United States of America on January 17, 2025, at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington D.C. Snoop performed at the event alongside Soulja Boy and Rick Ross.

Due to his performance, Snoop faced backlash from fans on social media, to which the singer has now responded with a statement on Instagram Live, here quoted via Complex's articles on the matter on January 27, 2025:

"It's Sunday man, I got gospel in my heart. For all that hate, I'm going to answer with love. Y'all can't hate enough on me. I love too much. "Get your life right stop worrying about mine. I'm cool, I'm together. Still a Black man, still 100 percent Black."

Snoop Dogg previously had an acrimonious relationship with Trump

Snoop Dog has had an acrimonious relationship with Trump from very early on, with the singer having joked during the event The Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump all the way back in 2011. This was followed by a string of incidents, from shooting an alternate-history fake Trump in a 2017 music video to stating that he would vote to get Trump out of office in 2020.

However, the acrimonious relationship started to change slightly in 2021, when Trump signed a pardon for the Death Row Records founder Michael "Harry-O" Harris in 2021.

Then in 2024, the singer refused to endorse a candidate at the presidential election, instead stating in a social media address just after the election:

"I'm not looking for separation, I'm not looking for division — I'm looking for people to come together. And I just want to say this: when all of the hoopla was going on with the voting, notice how I was nowhere to be seen? "

The singer continued:

"I wanted it to be like that, because I don't believe in separating people. I believe in bringing us together... If you're picking and choosing, now I gotta make people mad at me, because I chose this or chose that. I don't choose neither one."

More on Snoop Dogg's recent career

Snoop Dogg has continued to released albums in recent years, with the singer's latest studio album, Missionary, released on December 13, 2024. The singer talked about the album in an exclusive interview with Good Morning America on January 26, 2025:

"I can let the rabbit out the hat. I’ve been working on a record with Dr. Dre for the past 8 months. We’re about ready to drop a single in a couple weeks, so that’s what I’ve been cooking up."

The album was the singer's twentieth studio album, and his first since 2022's BODR. Snoop Dogg also continued his acting and producing career in 2024, taking part in four films.

He acted as Jaycen in the film The Underdoggs and was also the film's executive producer. In the animated film The Garfield Movie, he voiced the role of Maurice. He was the executive of the film 1992, and was featured as himself in the animated film Piece by Piece.

In 2025, Snoop Dogg is set to be part of the film All-Star Weekend, which will be released sometime later in the year. All-Star Weekend is a sports comedy-drama film.
