One of the actors Jo Yu-Ri from the Squid Game Season 2 cast revealed that she could not manage to complete one of the six-legged pentathlon games. The character that they portrayed, however, won the game. Apart from Lee Jung-Jae, Lee Byung-hun, Gong Yoo, and Wi Ha-joon, each of whom will be reprising their roles in Squid Game 2 from Squid Game 1.
The new season is filled with all-new faces and one of the characters in Squid Game season 2 is Jun-hee, played by Jo Yu-ri. While Jun-hee is pregnant at the time, she still enters the games in season 2, further complicating the season's storyline.
Jo Yu-Ri struggled to play the Ddakji game
In an interview with Netflix, the stars of Squid Game Season 2, Yim Si-Wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Yang Dong-Geun, and Jo Yu-Ri tried to play The Six-legged Pentathlon games again. Even though the games brought the nostalgia of childhood, the actors still struggled to play the games. While playing Ddakji, Jo Yu-Ri revealed how she couldn't play the game while filming the Ddkaji scene. She disclosed further:
"I still couldn't flip the Ddakji over, so the director said he'd just use CGI. "
Jun-hee(Jo Yu-Ri) was grouped with Gi-hun(Lee Jung-Jae), In-ho(Lee Byun-Hun), Jeong-Bae(Lee Seo-Hwan), and Dae-ho(Kang Ha-Neul). Being the first in the group, she has to play the game that we have seen being played in the thriller series so many times. To play Ddakji one has to throw an envelope at another in an attempt to flip it. Though Jun-hee played the mini-game quite ably in Squid Game season 2, Yu-ri found it pretty tough to play when the scene was being filmed.
More about The Six-legged Pentathlon game
Most of the games in the Squid Game series, while being children's games, prove to be difficult for the players, The Six-legged Pentathlon being one of them.
The Six-legged Pentathlon happened to be rounded off as the second game in Squid Game Season 2. It was framed from five children's games: Ddakji, Flying Stone, Gong-gi, Spinning Top, and Jegi. The groups have to finish all five games within a given time limit.
Five players, also divided into teams, have to play mini-games, each of them playing only one game. All five members must advance around the track with their legs tied together. Each team member must tackle exactly one game. If a game is not completed, it must be tried again until it is finished. Any team that failed to complete all five games and cross the finish line within five minutes was immediately executed.
With new games like The Six-Legged Pentathlon and new players to gamble with their lives, Squid Game Season 2 maintains the thrill and horror by which the show is known. While also increasing the anticipation of the audience for the next season.
