Tom Holland's next MCU adventure was given an appropriate title, as Sony revealed at CinemaCon: Spider-Man: Brand New Day. But I don't think it will be Holland's next, especially when its release date is concerned, which is set just a couple of months after we see Robert Downey Jr. as Victor Von Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.
It's interesting because the title fits best for a story after Peter Parker was forgotten by the world after Doctor Strange cast a spell to prevent multiversal threats who were coming for him. As soon as it was done, everyone forgot the web-slinger, and now he has to begin his life afresh.
But that goes well with the fact that there will be a brand new day after Doomsday is over. And I cannot stop looking at Spider-Man: Brand New Day's release date, too. It's something that tells me Spider-Man will appear in the Russo Brothers movie, even if that's a cameo.
Peter Parker should be in there among the Avengers: Doomsday characters
If the Russos are not done revealing the full cast of Avengers: Doomsday, then I'm hoping he will be among the first of the remaining members to come. The 26 characters could appear in the first half of the film, while the rest can come in for the second half.
Even though Spider-Man: Brand New Day is initially revealed, Doomsday is likely to be the main focus now; it just adds to the possibility of Peter Parker eventually making it to the film.
And there was this early listing posted by Production Weekly that just adds to my speculation of Peter Parker being a part of Doomsday. It even mentioned the names of Andrew Garfield, Robert Downey Jr., and Michael Keaton for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Looks like the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn't in the mood to close the multiverse soon. And just read what that says,
"Following the events of Doomsday, Peter Parker is determined to lead a normal life and focus on college, stepping back from his responsibilities as Spider-Man."
There's more to this potential Spider-Man: Brand New Day plot, but like Parker making an unlikely ally, this instance is enough to convince me that he will be there during the events of Doomsday.
Parker's Doomsday appearance can give him a fresh and better restart in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
People might have forgotten the web-slinger after that spell, but he hasn't forgotten any. And while he misses Aunt Mary, it's his mentor, Tony Stark, who is on his mind day and night. He accepts that anywhere he goes, he sees Tony's face now that he is gone after he sacrificed himself to save the universe in Avengers: Endgame.
But I want to see his reaction when he actually sees his face but in the form of Victor Von Doom. But what's more intriguing is, will he be able to face that face? I mean, if Doom is actually a villain trying to take over the world. Because what I know is that he is here to stop the incursions.
And if he is here to stop incursions, maybe Peter gets to help him, and finally, he has, in some capacity, his mentor-like figure back in the equation. You know, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse made it too easy for Parker's friends from other dimensions to visit him; why can't that be true for the MCU's Peter Parker?
I surely want to see Doctor Doom being his advisor or something in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Maybe he'll give an entry like Tony did in Homecoming. Though there won't be an Iron Man suit.
