Sabrina Carpenter shot her Feather MV at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Annunciation Parish in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Due to the racy and violent content of the video, the pastor of the church, Monsignor Jamie J. Gigantiello, was stripped of his administrative powers over the church, subsequent to the release of the video.

Now news has come forward that Monsignor Jamie J. Gigantiello was involved in business dealings with former New York City Mayor Eric Adams, with the diocese releasing a statement that suggests that the controversy surrounding Feather MV led to the probe.

Sabrina Carpenter responded to the suggestion that she got the Mayor of New York City indicted with a tongue in cheek comment during her New York show:

"Should we talk about how I got the mayor indicted?"

This led to fan reactions to her comment once it got viral on social media, as exemplified by the tweet below:

"Lmaaaaaaaao she’s so funny for this"

Others responded with similar hilarity and acceptance, with some fans proclaiming that the investigation being triggered by her song was cool, while others simply praised Sabrina Carpenter and her song:

"i’ve been hoping for the demise of Eric Adams for quite some time and Sabrina Carpenter’s video initiating an investigation that lead to his indictment is kind of the cool thing that she can casually bring up as a fun party anecdote for the rest of her life." one netizen commented.
"Thank you for that! We are grateful for your service!", another netizen stated.
"she had the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever and she absolutely took it." one commentor reacted.
"Oh feather the iconic song that you are," another commentor reacted.
"Your favourite comedians, favourite comedian." a fan stated.
