Ryan Coogler's stunning success with his vampirical thriller Sinners has now become one of the most significant moments in his career as the film has become one of the biggest projects of the year, thanks to Coogler's creative genius and Michael B Jordan's dual magic on screen. As he continues to bask in Sinners' success, the director is already on his way to the next project, and this one it's a science fiction drama series.
Coogler is set to work on a reboot for X Files, which, according to the director, is directly next in his line of duties. Speaking about the project, he told Last Podcast on the Left,
“I’ve been excited about that for a long time and I’m fired up to get back to it. Some of those episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really fucking scary.”
In 2023, Coogler was first rumored to be working on a new series for the highly acclaimed show. Chris Carter, the showrunner and creator of the series, confirmed that the two had discussed remounting the supernatural detective drama, which starred David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, who were tasked with looking into paranormal activity reports.
Coogler further added how he has been in touch with Gillian Anderson, as he said,
“She’s incredible and fingers crossed there. We’re going to try to make something really great, bro, and make something for the real ‘X-Files’ fans and maybe find some new ones.”
The update surely means that the series is seriously in progress, and it would be interesting to see what shape it takes under Coogler's mastermind.

Sinners has very quickly become one of the highest-grossing films projected for 2025, as the gothic horror comedy has gone on to earn $19.2 million in its very first day. The film is Ryan Coogler's fifth collaboration with Michael B. Jordan, and the duo's chemistry has resulted in an impeccable watch that blends multiple genres effortlessly and keeps you on your toes until the very end.
Loosely based on Stephen King's Salem's Lot, Sinners is a vampirical horror film that sees Jordan playing the role of twins Smoke and Stack, whose club gets attacked by a vampire coven that is out to take their cousin to join the deadly team.

It also stars Hailee Steinfeld and newcomer Miles Caton, who has delivered a captivating performance in his debut project. Sinners is definitely one of the best releases of the year as it continues garnering praise and is expected to reach great heights in the coming weeks.
