Amazon's new Christmas film, Red One, is set in a world where an organization (Mythological Oversight and Restoration Authority aka MORA) maintains peace between mythological creatures and humanity. Callum is its ELF (Enforcement Logistics and Fortification) operative, who's in charge of Santa Claus' (aka The Red One) security. He plans to retire from his post as he is disappointed by the growth of naughty behavior in the world.

The movie follows Callum and Jack's attempts to locate Santa Claus. It happens shortly before Christmas after a black ops team kidnaps Santa. Zoe and her team discover Jack's involvement in disclosing Santa's location. She interrogates Jack and convinces him to help MORA. Before he leaves, she puts a tracker on him.

Callum reluctantly joins Jack to find Ted, the broker who hired him. Ted reveals that he works for Gryla. Callum suspects Krampus, Santa's long-lost brother and Gryla's ex-lover who makes the Naughty list, is behind the kidnapping. Krampus reveals that Gryla stole 'glaskafig', a magical snow globe that can imprison people. While on the search for Santa Claus, Jack falls into Gryla's trap himself.

Gryla is a troll who plans to imprison all the people from the naughty list. So, she duplicates the glaskafig in massive proportions to trap all those people forever. Jack and his son, Dylan happen to be on this list. So, she traps them in two globes. They get rescued after having a heart-to-heart conversation, reconciling their differences, and agreeing to be kinder to each other.

While Jack is trapped, Zoe and Callum track his location to realize Santa's whereabouts. They realize that Santa has been to the North Pole all along, in Gryla's lair. By then, Gryla uses her shape-shifting abilities to take control of the organizational complex.

After realizing Gryla's plan, Zoe and Callum head back to the North Pole. They rescue Santa Clause and seek his magical powers to defeat Gryla. At the end of Red One, Santa traps Gryla in one of her mass-produced globes.

As Zoe takes her into custody, Santa and his brother get over their differences. On the other hand, Callum regains his hope in his work after seeing the sense of wonder in the young Jack's eyes.
