Rebel Ridge is shaping up to be a real thriller on Netflix this year. Director Jeremy Saulnier, who's known for his work on Green Room and Blue Ruin, takes a deep dive into corruption and redemption in this gripping film.

Rebel Ridge stars Aaron Pierre, a talented British actor known for his roles in Old, The Underground Railroad, and The A Word. Terry is trying to bail out his cousin, but the police unfairly take his money. In his quest to retrieve it, he uncovers a perilous corruption network that endangers not just his life but also those who assist him.


Has Rebel Ridge dropped already?

The movie dropped on Netflix on September 6, 2024. Filming was set to start in April 2020 but got delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. After that, the project faced many obstacles. In June 2021, John Boyega left the project during filming due to personal family issues. As a result, filming was put on hold to find a replacement for him.

In October, Aaron Pierre took Boyega's place, and production resumed. According to Saulnier, the film was in its final stages of post-production by March 2024.

Rebel Ridge is about Terry Richmond, a former Marine who goes to Shelby Springs to bail out his cousin.

When Terry arrives, the corrupt local cops, led by Chief Sandy Burnne, take his savings which he was carrying to post bail. As Terry tries to get his money back he soon realizes that things are out of his control. He joins forces with Summer McBride, a court clerk, and together they embark on a tough journey to recover his money and bring to light the corruption in Shelby Springs.

There are a lot of exciting scenes in this clip, including fast-paced vehicle chases, covert meetings, and dramatic confrontations. Terry ultimately decides to overthrow the corrupt regime that has been in charge of the town.
