More about Ready Or Not
Ready Or Not is produced by Tripp Vinson, Bradley J. Fischer, James Vanderbilt, and William Sherak. The film is about Grace (played by Samara Weaving), who is a young bride. Her husband's rich family starts hunting her in order to follow their age-old ritual, which involves praising satan.
The film had its world premiere at the 2019 Fantasia International Film Festival and was released on August 21, 2019, by Searchlight Pictures. It received a positive response from all sides and became a commercial success. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Samara Weaving revealed that the climax of the film, involving shootouts and bloodbath, was shot first. She said,
“Looking back, we were so exhausted by the end of the shoot. I’m glad we got the high-energy scenes done first. We were shooting in these very elaborate mansions, and we couldn’t get anything on the walls, floor or anything that was there. So they had to put so many plastic sheets down, and they had to do plate shots before they brought in the blood and removed the person … It also broke the ice with the cast — to see everyone covered in goo."
She further spoke about her shooting experience.
"The whole thing was so much fun. The cast and crew were so much fun. I think my favorite is the scene where we all get to be in the same room as each other; it’s when Grace is being introduced to the family. That was so much fun because we were just joking around and having a blast. I’m sure it was super annoying to some ADs trying to wrangle us all together."
Ready Or Not 2 is expected to take the story forward.
