Pharrell Williams' Piece By Piece film is set to be released on October 11, 2024. The animated Lego film is a biopic drama that will chronicle key moments of Williams' life and will feature appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Gwen Stefani, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, Jay Z, and Snoop Dogg.

The singer elaborated on the Piece By Piece film in an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on September 11, 2024:
"I’m humble now, but it tells you the story of how I became humble. And what I love about it is, from 8 to 80, it’s never too late for you to think about your dreams and build them piece by piece."
The singer continued:
"It’s never too late for you to go pick up a Lego set and make things and be a co-creator. It’s never too late to wake up to that. It’s never too late to gain that self-awareness. This is my dream, for people to have that."
In another interview with Variety on June 6, 2024, the singer elaborated on how he felt about the new film and its coming together, stating:
"The joy is seeing it come together piece by piece — pun intended. Being a Maverick and being a pluralist — one who’s interested in and inspired and has aspirations in many different directions and artistic disciplines, my story never really made a lot of sense to most people because most people just choose a lane or two, and I like to cross into different lanes and go into different worlds and take what I feel like is interesting from this place and those experiences and apply them elsewhere."
Piece by Piece is directed by Morgan Neville. The film was produced by Pharrell, Mimi Valdés, Caitrin Rogers, Morgan Neville and Shani Saxon. It was written by Morgan Neville, Jason Zeldes, Aaron Wickenden and Oscar Vazquez.
The film was first conceptualized as a biopic in early 2019, with the singer intially relunctant to participate in a documentary, but agreed to do so once he was given the free will to do it in any format he chose to.
Piece by Piece is set to be the fifth Lego film and the first from Universal Pictures' run of their film rights.
The film first premiered at the 51st Telluride Film Festival on August 30, 2024, followed by the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, 2024. The film will also be premiered at the 68th BFI London Film Festival to be held from October 9 to October 20, 2024.
