Parthenope is the latest film by Paolo Sorrentino that will be hitting the silver screens shortly. The film managed to be selected for the Palm d'Or category at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it was also premiered. It is in the coming-of-age genre and is made with the collaboration of production companies between France and Italy, making it an international venture.
Apart from taking on directorial responsibilities, Sorrentino has also written Parthenope as well as co-produced it with Lorenzo Mieli, Anthony Vaccarello, and Ardavan Safaee. The film features Italian, Neapolitan, and English languages and will be released on February 7, 2025, in the U.S.
When will Parthenope be released?
Parthenope had its world premiere on May 21 at the Cannes Film Festival. After the screening, the audience gave a standing ovation that lasted for more than nine minutes. This response helped in creating more buzz about the film globally. Later on, it had its theatrical release in Italy on October 24 of the same year. Despite the interesting premise and Sorrentino's body of work, the film was not well received by critics. A24 will be releasing the film on February 7, 2025.
