The film brings back the classic action thriller trope where an aging killer returns to his profession for some unavoidable reasons. The most popular example of this trope might be Denzel Washington's The Equalizer movie series. However, several films depend on this formula to show that there's still fuel in a retired or aging assassin's tank.
