Zayn Malik, former One Direction-er and Khai's dad, has announced his plans to hit the road solo for the first time ever, for his latest album, Room Under The Stairs. He launched the album back in May 2024.
The 31-year-old singer is going on tour for the first time in over a decade, with the last one being in January 2016. The tour will begin on October 23 in the US and finish on December 3 in the UK.
He announced his plans on September 17, 2024, on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, when he hijacked the show. He walked on set, handed a note to Fallon, and simply left, without actually saying anything. The note read:
"Hey Jimmy. great to see you, mate. Going on my first-ever solo tour this autumn. So when you're done picking apples with your buds you can come check out my 'Stairway to the Sky Tour' across the US and the UK. I'm making an official announcement tomorrow morning."

Tickets will be made available on the ZAYN VIP Key app, via an exclusive pre-sale. This will be open to all those eligible on September 19.
However, those who cannot get their hands on these tickets need not worry; general tickets are always an option, which go on sale on September 21.
On September 18, Zayn Malik took to X to officially announce his tour, leaving many fans elated. He captioned the post:
"STAIRWAY TO THE SKY TOUR 2024. Appreciate your patience, love, and support. Can’t wait to enjoy great music together. This time I really mean soon [laughing emoji] see you in 35 days…. Tickets on sale Saturday but VIP Key holders will get first access to tickets beginning tomorrow"
More information about the tour has yet to come out, especially the setlist. However, Zayn Malik did take to Instagram to tease fans with a sneak peek at what it could be, which included his massive hits Pillowtalk, Dusk Till Dawn, What I Am, and Alienated.
This is Zayn Malik's most personal album yet, which he wrote from his house, located in the rural areas of Pennsylvania. It reflects on his life as he navigates healing, being still, and growing. He experiments with his vocal prowess, live instruments, and pushes his lyrical abilities as a songwriter.
In the past, the singer has been vocal about his anxiety when it comes to performing, as seen in his memoir from 2016. He stated:
"I found it really frustrating that, even now that I was being upfront about what the issue was, some people still found reasons to doubt it. But that's the industry. As a solo performer, I felt much more exposed, and the psychological stress of performing had just gotten to be too much for me to handle — at that moment, at least."
In May, Zayn Malik performed alone for the first time in London, at the Shepherd's Bush Empire. Notably, it was also the first time in nearly 10 years that he did something like this.
