Actress and singer Raven Symone broke her silence and called out fans who refer to her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, as her ‘handler.’ Appearing on the podcast which Symone co-hosts with her wife, Tea Time w/ Raven & Miranda, the That’s So Raven star finally addressed netizens who use social media to refer to Pearman-Maday as Symone’s ‘handler.’
In recent times, the internet was flooded with netizens making memes and calling Pearman-Maday Symone’s ‘handler,’ which essentially refers to someone who is employed to advise, manage, and assist another person, especially someone who remains in the public limelight. Symone, while criticizing fans who called her wife her ‘handler’ with a negative connotation, said:
“For those of you that are using the word handler as a negative I feel sorry for you because technically you too have a handler, that's your mama. You too have a handler, that's your teacher. Everybody has someone that you lean on in order to make your life a little bit easier.”

Interestingly, Symone managed to turn the unkind nature of the ‘handler’ allegations into a positive spin on the entire situation. Addressing her wife, Symone said:
"People have been calling you a handler because you've made sure that I've taken care of my body, you've made sure that I'm smiling every day and that I'm happy. You made sure that I'm making better choices with my career that I wanted and didn't have the guts to do by myself, and I finally have someone to do it. You made sure that as a human, not as a celebrity, I'm taken care of.”
Finally, Symone called out her fans on the mean-spirited nature of the ‘handler’ allegations and appreciated those who have always shown her full support. She added:
“So for those of you calling her a handler in the negative way, go sit down. For those of you who are understanding how that can actually be a good thing, thank you, you're welcome. Because if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be here right now in this body in this way. So go sit the f**k down.”
In a hilarious interlude, Pearman-Maday promptly said to Symone:
“You’re my handler.”
Symone confessed:
“I’m trying, you don’t like it, you’re a Leo, so”
Giving the entire incident a charming and wholesome conclusion, Pearman-Maday said:
“I’m so happy that we chose each other to be each other’s handlers.”
This is not the first time that netizens have targeted Raven Symone and Miranda Pearman-Maday
Raven Symone and Miranda Pearman-Maday, who tied the knot in 2020 in a secret ceremony, have experience dealing with attacks on social media.

In 2023, Today reported that Pearman-Maday was a recipient of death threats on social media after she failed to recognize a song from one of Symone’s films, The Cheetah Girls.
At the time, Raven Symone posted a video to TikTok, asking fans to back off and stop sending hateful messages to her wife. As per Today, Symone, in the caption to the video, said:
“Please stop with the death threats and miss information about @miranda v. pm. Its grown to a place that is completely disrespectful and out of control. Haters will hate and by all means do you boo boo HOWEVER do not spread lies and threaten my wife, marriage, or her character. I chose her and all of her…. Stop.”
