Singer and songwriter Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter has her way of parodying Netflix. On December 24, 2024, she posted a video on X where she stopped a football from rolling with her stiletto pump and then played the banjo to her hit song TEXAS HOLD 'EM.

As the crowd roared in the background, Beyonce took off her glasses but when the camera zoomed into her face, the screen started buffering for a few seconds.

During the moment, one could hear the singer sneer and after the buffering stopped, the singer winked at the camera with a slight smirk. The video was captioned:

“I’m sending you big joy and love on this Cowboy Christmas Eve. I’ll see y’all tomorrow, in my city HTX.”

Reportedly, the video poked fun at Netflix for its previous livestreaming issues. Nevertheless, it has attracted fans’ reactions on the social media platforms. One X user wrote:

“she said y’all better not play with her or everyone is getting fired.”

Netizens praised Beyonce for pulling the act while others remained fixated on the buffering part.

“Do you know how much power you have to have for @netflix to approve this??” a social media user asked in an astonishing tone.
“Not the buffering trolling. Oh she KNOW she’s about to break Netflix!” a netizen remarked.
“THE LOADING SCREEN LMAOOOO,” a person reacted on X.

While many X users found the buffering part real, others hoped the same would not happen in reality.

“Bey you play so much i thought that loading second was real and went to cussin Netflix out already,” another X user noted.
“not you making fun of netflix bugging they better not play with us tomorrow,” an internet user pointed out.

What did Netflix reply to Beyonce’s parody video?

The teaser was released a day before Beyonce's hometown performance at Houston’s NRG Stadium during the Christmas Day halftime show between the Texans and Ravens. This marks her first live performance since the release of Cowboy Carter in March 2024, which was her Billboard 200-topping album.

Cowboy Carter topped this year's Grammy nominations with 11 nods, including Record, Song, and Album of the Year. As per Entertainment Weekly, Beyonce not only holds the record for most Grammy wins but also became the most-nominated artist in Grammy history.

The NFL announced her halftime appearance in November 2024. However, the major highlight of the singer's video was possibly Netflix’s comment. The streaming company wrote ‘now hold on...’ as it changed its X bio to ‘roasted by beyoncé 12.24.24.’

As per reports, the video was a teaser to the singer’s upcoming performance scheduled to go live on Christmas Day NFL doubleheader on the streaming platform.

As per Billboard, the singer's parody video referenced the technical issues encountered during Netflix’s mid-November broadcast of the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul boxing match.

The NFL doubleheader begins with the Chiefs vs. Steelers at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Texans vs. Ravens at 4:30 p.m. ET. Both games and Beyonce’s halftime show will stream live on Netflix, with regional and mobile access available on NFL+.
