American basketball player Marcus Jordan, son of Michael Jordan, issued his first comments since his DUI arrest on February 4 for cocaine possession, driving under intoxication, and resisting arrest in Florida. In a post on his Instagram stories on February 6, Jordan, addressing his arrest said,
"I appreciate everyone reaching out. I'm focusing on @trophyroomstore right now and won't be making any comments on recent media stories and my personal life. I sincerely appreciate your concerns & thank you for your kind understanding."
As per jail records, Jordan was booked in Orange County on February 4. Body camera footage released by the Maitland Police Department and published by local station WFAA-TV showed the former player sitting behind the wheel of a blue sports car as police officers approached him.
As officers asked Jordan to get out of the vehicle since "a train was coming by", Jordan responded saying, "I know, that's why I'm trying to get the f**k out of here."
Jordan then went on to use his father's name, Michael Jordan to prove his innocence and said,
"I'm Marcus Jordan. I'm Michael Jordan's son. I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm just trying to get home. And I made a wrong turn. Okay?"
As per a report obtained by People, Jordan's eyes were "bloodshot and glassy" and he appeared to be "confused about where he was located." Jordan's blood alcohol content level was under the legal 0.8 and he seemingly didn't successfully complete any of the three field sobriety tests at the scene."
After detaining Jordan, officers found a white substance in a small plastic bag which later tested positive for cocaine.
"Can't you play some holiday music or some s***?' says Marcus Jordan at a police facility
As per court documents obtained by Daily Mail, Marcus Jordan demanded Mariah Carey's songs to be played in the background after he was taken into custody for DUI and cocaine possession on February 4. As per the documents, Jordan said,
"Can't you play some holiday music or some s***? Play some Mariah Carey up in this b***h."
He also called the police process a "f**** joke and complained about the train tracks where he was stuck at the time of his arrest saying, "Gonna line those f***in highways and get them quotas n***a."
This isn't the first time Marcus has been in the news for substance abuse. In August 2024, Jordan was photographed snorting a white power substance while having a poolside lunch in the South of France with girlfriend Ashely Stevenson.
