Marvel's upcoming films Thunderbolts* and Avengers: Doomsday are all set to be two of the biggest projects from the studio, and fans have been wondering if the two films are interconnected anyhow, as is the case for a lot of Marvel movies. Many have theorised that Thunderbolts* could set up the premise for Avengers: Doomsday and the events unfolding in the latter.
Doomsday will bring back the team of Avengers (and a few others) as they fight against Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom. Among the films leading up to this majestic reunion is Thunderbolts*, a film that will bring together a team of antiheroes as they team up against an adversary that is stronger than all the Avengers combined.
Director Jake Schreier, who is behind Thunderbolts* opened up on how the two films will be connected as he told SFX,
“There might be some stones, or pebbles [smiles]. I don’t know how you want to rate your rocks. Look, you know the character that we’re talking about, and you know that there’s a level of power involved there that could have an impact going forward. I’m not making Doomsday so I’m not privy to that.”
This definitely means that we'll see some foreshadowing moments in Thunderbolts* that will lead up to the major events happening in Avengers: Doomsday. With less than a month to go for Thunderbolts*, things are looking pretty exciting!

Robert Downey Jr's return as Doctor Doom is perhaps the most exciting part about the upcoming Avengers film that will be a part of Marvel's sixth phase. With theories ensuing left and right about how the antagonist will be introduced to the universe, fans are hooked on to every detail about the project that is guaranteed to hold up to Marvel's usual grandeur.
The cast list for Doomsday is pretty star-studded as the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts* they're all coming together for the project. It would certainly be interesting to see what shape the plot takes as the Russo brothers are also returning for the project after quite a long hiatus from Marvel.

Thunderbolts* will see the return of Yelena Belenova, now known as White Widow, and Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, along with a team of misfits as they fight against Sentry. There have been speculations surrounding what turn the film will take and if they are here to replace the Avengers and mark the beginning of a new heroic team. Nevertheless, it'll all be pretty clear soon as Thunderbolts* is set to hit theatres on 1 May 2025.
Avengers: Doomsday is coming out exactly a year after on May 1, 2026.
