Prior to this, the film was available to rent on Prime Video and Apple TV.
Wicked will be streaming on Peacock from March 21st, almost six months after its theatrical release. If you want to watch Elphaba and Glinda's magical journey, Peacock's plans start at $7.99 monthly, including ads. Peacock Premium Plus, with no ads, costs $13.99 per month or $139.99 per year.
The blockbuster musical Wicked was the most talked-about film of 2024, earning 10 Academy Award nominations and $727 million at the worldwide box office. Starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo as the lead witches, it is a big contender for this year's Oscars and will most likely take some honors home.
Wicked is an adaptation of the Broadway musical of the same name, incorporating all the plot and musical details of the original. The film stars Grande as Glinda and Erivo as Elphaba. It is directed by Jon M. Chu and also stars Ethan Slater, Michelle Yeoh, Jonathon Bailey, and Jeff Goldblum.

Jon M. Chu announced his decision to divide the film into two parts even before the first part came out. This was done in order to give the film's plot more space to breathe as Chu tried to stay true to the film's original spirit.
All the original cast members are returning for the sequel, which promises to have new musical elements. Apart from reinstating the original songs from the musical, the film will also feature some new songs that have been written exclusively for the sequel.
Grande has previously teased the film's 'dark tones' and has revealed that it may explore sapphic tensions between the two witches. Speaking to Variety, the actress said,
“I think she's a person who loves so much, and I do think that it goes beyond gender. I also think that the ways in which she loves Elphaba so much, and that forgiveness and that unconditional love that they share — I think they're in love with each other.”
Wicked: For Good has already wrapped up production and is now slated to release in November 2025.
