In 2022, Slater and Farber decided to call it quits. According to a Yahoo report, their divorce was confirmed two years later, on May 16, 2024. In a 2023 conversation on The Viall Files podcast, Emma Slater disclosed how he and Sasha Farber had different opinions on having kids and raising a family together during that time, as per a ComingSoon.net report.

The Dancing With The Stars star said,

"We’re still like family, so it isn’t really like the love is not there, it’s actually not that at all. We’re just at potentially two different places. But the hard part was that the love actually didn’t go [away]."

Slater opened up about the equation she shares with her ex-husband and why they came to the conclusion of getting separated and divorcing each other.

While talking more about her past marriage with Sasha Farber and the dissimilarities they encountered about their thoughts of growing a family from two, she further continued,

"It’s really the kid thing. It’s interesting because I do want to have kids, I just don’t want to delay Sasha’s path in having kids because I know that he is ready for that. I don’t want to talk about him too much because that’s really for him to say, but it’s about kids."

Following the interview and what Emma revealed, one crucial reason leading to her divorce from Sasha turned out to be the discussion of experiencing parenthood.

Though they stood firmly with their approach to this significant life aspect, Slater confirmed that their break up "had nothing to do with" Sasha.

Slater also chimed in,

"I do want kids. I don’t know what it is, I’m just figuring that out for myself. It’s not something I take lightly and I don’t want to enter into something that I’m not sure about because I would never do that."

Later, she clarified about Sasha Farber,

"So, that’s been the real friction and the real hard part. It had nothing to do with him. He’s always been very much himself. It’s me that’s found it difficult to understand why I’m feeling different."
