Rumors of Slimeball MK Slatt, a comedian popular on social media, being dead, were flooding social media on Monday, November 25. However, the claims have since been debunked as both he and his cousin, Wigsby K Way, took to Facebook to vow that her cousin is "good," and rubbished the claims as nothing but "false rumors."

The rumor first began when a video on TikTok emerged from the account @dankyunderground, which claimed that Slimeball, real name Marquel Holmes, passed away at 23. The post read:

"Instagram comedian MK Slatt passes away at the age of 23. Further investigation is still processing."

Nonetheless, the internet was displeased with such a rumor emerging in the first place. Many pointed out that death was not something to joke about. Here's what one user tweeted:

"Thank God, but why play around like this to begin with?"

Scores online opined:

"I was finna be mad as hell I need him doing skits," one user said, sarcastically.
"Ni**as had me feelin some typa way for no reason," someone else penned.
"Ni**as is really weird for this sh*t exactly why I don’t believe sh*t till i see more proof," a third person commented.
"Thank god mkslatt not dead they was fin leave us with desi banks," yet another opined.

The comments didn't end there, as others had a lot more to say:

"Ni**a is not dead stop lying. Glad we getting his videos together tho," one user quipped.
"when i wake up mkslatt better post sayin how stupid yall look," someone else tweeted.
"the internet really tried to kill mk slatt today. i will never forgive yall," another user declared.
"i’m not believing that Big Sad news until an official source come thru . y’all just said MK Slatt died last night & bro is well alive . sht gettin’ weird," another stated.

However, a good chunk of those online unfamiliar with the news are still grieving his fake passing.

MK Slatt's father takes to social media to affirm that his son is "alive and well"

In a video on Facebook, Marlon Holmes, Slimeball's father, affirmed the news that his son is alive and well. In the video, uploaded on November 26, he said:

"Man I just wanna clear the air: My son, my kid, is not dead. I've been getting phone calls, Facebook messages, text messages, and I've seen it all over social media but Slimeball MK Slatt, whatever you know him by, is not dead."

Following the posts, one of MK Slatt's friends, Reggie Baybee, uploaded a video of the two jamming together. He wrote on his Instagram stories:

"Man I hope this s*** ain't true."

While Slimeball's death rumors may have been debunked, he has been at the center of controversy following his arrest in connection with a drug investigation in Irondale, Alabama. He was charged with the possession of drugs and narcotics in December 2023, in addition to trafficking-related charges.

Notably, such bogus death rumors targeting celebrities have been rampant for years now. Just last December, Google incorrectly marked Eminem and Bia as dead.
