Nick Fuentes, a contentious far-right streamer, was hit with misdemeanor battery charges in Chicago. The incident in question took place last month in Berwyn, Illinois, when a woman accused him of pepper spraying her and forcing her down the front steps of his home.
As reported by the Chicago Sun-Times, the criminal complaint was filed by Marla Rose last week at the Cook Cook County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, following which Fuentes was cuffed, his fingerprints were registered, and he was released on November 27, 2024. Per the complaint, Fuentes, 26, “knowingly made physical contact of an insulting nature” with Rose.
Nick Fuentes became "uncooperative" as soon as cops arrived at the scene, claims "your body, my choice forever"
Marla Rose, 57, who works as a writer and serves as the co-founder of a vegan lifestyle company, reportedly told officials that she went to Nick Fuentes' home to confront him on November 10, as she saw one of his contentious social media posts following the presidential election. In the post uploaded on Election Day, Fuentes professed, “Your body, my choice. Forever," referring to the abortion policies.
She revealed that she found his address online after it got leaked and headed over, but before she could ring the doorbell, he opened up and sprayed her with what she claims is pepper spray. She tried to record the incident, but Fuentes snatched the phone and took it inside. The police grabbed it later on.
Reportedly, in footage circulating online, Nick Fuentes can also be seen grabbing the phone, hurtling it to the ground, and stomping on it. Per NBC News, the woman did not sustain any injuries save for "watery" eyes. Fuentes was arrested and released the following day, all within 30 minutes.
Per ABC7, Fuentes is notorious for identifying as a white nationalist who frequently passes racist and misogynistic comments. Per NBC News, he told police that he “posted a political joke online,” and since then, has been hit with many a death threat and several “people showing up to his house unannounced." He also added that he was “in fear for his life."
The outlet also reveals that another passerby, a woman, witnessed a man shoving a woman outside the home, prompting her to call 911. Police rushed to the scene to find Rose there, but she and Nick Fuentes were not together. Per NBC News, Fuentes “became uncooperative” with the officers on-site and refused to answer probes about the alleged quarrel with Rose.
In the wake of the incident, several users online have begun calling Nick Fuentes out in his own words, with many noting “Your house, our choice.” His court hearing has been set for December 19, 2024.
