Basketball guard Jared McCain seems to enjoy his time with Aubrey Drake Graham’s new music. The NBA star took to his TikTok to post a video of him dancing to NOKIA from $ome $*xy $ongs 4 U, a collaborative album with PartyNextDoor released on February 13, 2025.

After the video went viral, social media users posted their comments and reactions. One X user asked:

“why are his nails painted?”

As evidenced by the majority of reactions, many X users were fixated on Jared McCain's nails, while others praised the song.

“Bro nails painted. Exactly what this album for,” a person pointed out.
“Perfect for a Drake song nails painted zesty over 9000 nailed it,” a social media user commented.
“Nails painted, jacket unbuttoned with no shirt on, in a hotel room..... Yea follow this guy,” an online commentator remarked.
“This song is a certified banger,” an internet user noted.

Jared McCain first started painting his nails during the Covid quarantine period. He said that it has become a "non-negotiable" habit for him. He usually sports the colors of his team. McCain even took to X to explain the reason behind it.

"One of the reasons I kept painting my nails is I had a game after I painted my nails, and I ended up playing really well."

He also added that it keeps him from biting his fingernails.

Jared McCain has been open about his love and support for the Canadian rapper. During a conversation in the Podcast P with Paul George in 2024, McCain revealed that sports gave him a platform to show his personality.

He liked to dance and sing as a kid, for which he had Drake to credit. He recalled being at a concert when he was eight where Kendrick Lamar opened for the Canadian rapper.

When asked whether he was a fan of Kendrick Lamar, he said he liked Poetic Justice. Jared McCain said although he liked Lamar’s songs, he would side with Drizzy as he was his favorite singer of all time.

More about Jared McCain’s fascination with Drake’s music

In November 2024, during an interaction with RapCaviar, Jared McCain said his choice for the year’s All Rap Caviar would be Playboi Carti, while the Rookie of the Year was Cash Cobain. However, as the interview progressed, he mentioned Drake was the top artist for the year, as he said:

“Just based off my whole life, I've listened to Drake and he's probably my top artist since I've had Spotify. His lyrics always can find a way to resonate with something going on in my life. So yeah, definitely Drake.”

Jared McCain had previously compared the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar to LeBron James. In 2024, when he was drafted, he wore a shirt featuring Drizzy. A reporter complimented McCain on his shirt, which he had forgotten he wore. This led to a discussion about his favorite rapper.

McCain expressed his admiration for Graham, calling him his all-time favorite. When asked about the criticism the rapper has faced, he compared it to the way LeBron James also receives hate, suggesting that people who achieve great success are often targeted.

Reporter Lauren Rosen sat for an interview with McCain in which she asked him about his top three favorite albums of Drake. He said Nothing Was the Same topped the list, which was followed by Take Care and More Life. However, he immediately changed the list and finalized View, Take Care and Nothing Was the Same as his top three picks.

When asked about the five songs he could keep listening to, McCain replied Weston Road Flows, Fire & Desire, Over My Dead Body, Tuscan Leather, and From Time.
