"The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart. Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart."

Around nine months later, the former celebrity couple finalized their divorce in June last year. According to a 2024 Entertainment Tonight report, court documents mentioned that the rapper abused Jeannie Mai physically when they were married.

However, Jeezy denied these allegations. He stated that these claims,

"Are not only false but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved."

Per a HotNewHipHop report, a source disclosed the reason behind this high-profile divorce:

"They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren't being completely met."

"Family expectations" also reportedly played a role in the decision to drift apart.
