Helen Mirren, 79, and Harrison Ford, 82, share a lot of screen time in season 2 of the popular series 1923 as Cara Dutton and Jacob Dutton. The renowned actress feels there might be a chance of them being related and connected beyond being on-screen co-stars.
In a recent conversation with People Magazine, Helen Mirren shared that she and Harrison "have a weird thing." Recalling the shooting days of The Mosquito Coast in 1986, she paralleled their bond as,
"Your best friend in college that you haven't seen for like 30 years, but [once] you're back, [it is] exactly [the same], only even better, actually. Even better."
Mirren even jokingly suggested an unusual idea to analyze the truth behind her and Ford's "weird connectedness." Quite unexpectedly, she proposed the idea of doing a DNA test with her co-star.
Here's why Helen Mirren feels she and Harrison Ford might be brother and sister
After The Mosquito Coast, the co-stars are working together after decades, resparking the wonderful association, on-screen chemistry, and connection they shared while acting in a project together for the first time.
Recounting their bond and friendship, Mirren added,
"I don't know if you feel the same, Harrison, but I certainly feel like that, that there is this weird, connectedness. Maybe we should do a DNA [test]. Maybe we are brother and sister in the end or something like that."
Harrison hilariously responded to this surprising proposition.
"Well, that makes it even more bizarre. Maybe cousins. That would be better."
While speaking with People Magazine, Ford expressed a pivotal reason influencing him to agree to be a part of 1923. He talked about getting "a chance to work with her again" as the project's "main attraction."
Delving more into the behind-the-scenes stories, the legendary actor further shared,
"The reality is that we met 40 or 50 years ago when we were doing Mosquito Coast. And so we meet now 40 years later. I've been told that she's already signed up. She's been told I'm already signed up. But somehow, we find ourselves here. And there are 1,000,000 different kinds of actors. They're [as] different as dentists are to one another — but when there's a fit, you feel it."
Additionally, Ford sweetly called his and Mirren's screen dynamic,
"It's just a perfect bit of casting."

According to a Bright Side report, she shared what her initial thoughts were on finding a life partner.
"I didn’t ever want to rely on a man to provide for me, I wanted to create something that was completely and utterly mine. And I didn’t want anybody in my life dictating what I do."
Well, her perception about the special someone changed after meeting Taylor Hackford, her husband. Their chemistry, sparks, and energy transformed her notions of remaining single without a man.
"I don’t have much life left, do I? So, I hope he’s the love of my life."
The couple started dating in the 1980s. After being together for over a decade, they celebrated their wedding on December 31, 1997.
Recalling her earlier perspectives and how her love changed her approach to love and her marriage, she recounted,

Acting being her biggest priority, Helen Mirren never chose motherhood. She shared,
"I love children, they are so funny and sweet, but I never wanted my own."
However, the actress confessed to feeling sad for not being able to experience what parenthood feels like after watching the film Parenthood.
"I have never had a moment of regret about not having children. Well, I lie. When I watched the movie, Parenthood, I sobbed for about 20 minutes. I realized I would never experience that, and for about 20 minutes, I sobbed for the loss of that and the fact that I never experienced it."
However, Helen Mirren is the stepmother of Hackford's kids from his previous marriage. She has found a kind of love for her extended family that may not be related by blood but is special.
