Rapper Jerrica Russell, aka Gloss Up, has found herself in a difficult situation following her physical altercation with former manager, Tatiyana Blood. The incident reportedly happened outside a nightclub in Atlanta and the rapper was seen pulling the victim by her hair and pushing her to the ground after repeatedly hitting her.
A January 5, 2025, report by Rap-Up states that the singer was arrested on January 4 following the physical altercation with Blood although it’s not officially confirmed.
However, her sister appeared to be happy in a viral video. She allegedly referred to the time she was in jail and required Bond Money but Gloss Up did not give it. Justifying the arrest, the rapper’s sister said:
“We gone get back close when she gets back broke.”
Tatiyana Blood shared details about the incident in an Instagram live session on January 4, 2025. She said Russell came after her outside Dreamz Restaurant and Lounge on January 1, 2025. Blood suffered physical injuries because of the assault which also left bruises on her body.
She alleged that Gloss Up wanted to fight her for being dropped by her previous record label, Quality Control, which represents artists like Lil Baby, The Migos, and others. The former manager claimed Russell was let go because her music was not generating revenue.
The rapper also shared an X post on January 5, 2025, writing:
“Smiling So Hard In A MugShot About My LivelyHood.”
She also released a new music video CYCLE on January 6, 2025, on YouTube.
Tatiyana Blood said she was hit by Gloss Up without any warning
During the live Instagram session, Tatiyana Blood said she handled affairs with Gloss Up professionally. The physical assault on her happened after she left the club with her friends. She said she was talking to the club’s owner about business outside. Blood added:
“We were standing there, talking. Out of nowhere, I get hit from behind. I didn’t see it coming or nothing. The girl came in a sports br* and some workout tights and tennis shoes and a bunny.”
She continued:
“Yes, I have injuries. Yes, my nose was swollen. Yes, my knees were scraped. Yes, my hip was bruised that I had surgery on before when I went to Jackson state and ran track.”
While discussing the physical attack, Blood mentioned that Gloss Up did not have car insurance and did not register the car she used. In addition to that, it had a fake Illinois tag on it.
She stated that Gloss Up had gone to the police weeks earlier to file a restraining order against her. However, she emphasized that for such an order to be issued, she would need to have taken some action against the person, which she denied. She clarified that she had not contacted, stalked, or sought out the individual and insisted she had done nothing to them.
Tatiyana Blood also said she went to law school and also had a degree in Political Science. She mentioned that the people she met through the rapper were still on good terms with her.
Besides that, Blood said the rapper had more things to take care of rather than coming after her when she was not even worried about her. Blood pressed charges against the rapper.
