Late boxing champion, George Foreman named all 5 of his sons George, as a way to unite them together. On his website, georgeforeman.com, Foreman while noting the thought behind naming all five of his sons George said,
"I named all my sons George Edward Foreman so they would always have something in common. I say to them, 'If one of us goes up, then we all go up together. And if one goes down, we all go down together."
To make it easier to differentiate between all his five sons, he has given each of them nicknames: George VI (Little Joey), George V (Red), George IV (Big Wheel), George III (Monk), George Jr., and George III (Monk).
George Foreman died on March 21, 2025, at 76 as per his family's announcement on his official Instagram account.
His family's announcement read,
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr. who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. A devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grand and great grandfather, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility, and purpose."
The late boxer had 12 children; five sons and seven daughters from five marriages.

George Foreman welcomed 12 kids from his 5 marriages. Among his five sons, Geroge III, went on to become a professional boxer like his father. Foreman also adopted two daughters, Courtney and Brandie, and has five other daughters; Natalie and Leola from his most recent marriage to Martelly, and Freeda, Michi, and Georgetta.
His daughter, Freeda also tried professional boxing. She died in 2019 reportedly by suicide. In a now-deleted tribute on X, George said,
"Daddy I want to Box', 'Get an Education first' I said, well she brought the bacon home (degree) 2 kids 3 grands (husband) First Sunday in 42 years without my Freeda. She's with her maker now. 10 kids forever. Just 1 more day I wanted okay I more year aw 1 more decade."
Natalie tried out her hand in music as a singer, and Georgetta worked as a television producer, working on shows like Divorce Court (1999), and Beyond the Glory (2001).
Foreman published a book on fatherhood in 2008 titled; Fatherhood by George: Hard-Won Advice on Being a Dad. While speaking to CBN about the book, Foreman said;
"In raising children life brings forth those things where you do what you should never have done and what I taught you never to do."
