The beef between World champion boxer Claressa Shields and rapper Remy Ma compounded as the former challenged the latter to take matters into the ring for a boxing match.
The drama stems from allegations of infidelity involving Remy's husband, Papoose, and the two-time Olympic gold medalist. Remy first took to social media to share a series of screenshots and receipts of her partner's relationship with Shields, and just this week, the latter shot back:
"Misery loves company baby…. Smh. I’m just so happy over here” Claressa tweeted.
"I can’t believe a 45 year old woman is crashing out like this..." Claressa posted in another tweet.
The two then got into a heated argument online with Claressa Shields eventually challenging Remy into a duel in a now-deleted tweet:
“Claressa Shields vs. @RealRemyMa Feb 2nd! Come get yo a** whooped crash out!!”

Not long after Shields accused Remy of being miserable, the latter responded with some corrections:
"I’m not 45 YET! But you are 29 and I’ll just say this… you not aging like wine. AGAIN tho, I’m not your enemy. Tell ya boyfriend to buy you some flowers & gifts. & he didn’t answer any of his phones cuz he was with his Cali girl this week.” Remmy tweeted.
She also exposed their chats on Instagram, where Shields allegedly asked Remy for some fashion advice. However, the latter rubbished the same as nothing but fabrication, tweeting:
“You making fake texts is crazy! I’m not a bi**h you can bully,” she wrote. “You’re bitter and mad. You making yourself look stupid, just stop it.”
As reported by The Tribune, in the screenshots, Sheilds can be seen asking Papoose to "do something today” about "this girl" as she expresses concern about bad PR. She also suggested keeping things low until her biopic releases this December.
Claressa Shields then used the moment to highlight her upcoming match, before she taunted Remy to meet her in the ring:
"Might as well! Next fight is Feb 2nd in Flint, Michigan for some more Heavyweight Belts! & The Fire Inside comes out Christmas Day in a theatre near you!”

Remy accused her on-again-off-again partner of colluding with his mistress to have her arrested and also accused him of threatening to leak their intimate videos to exact revenge. Remy shared additional screenshots of the chats between her partner and Shields, and in some of these, Remy can be seen dissing Shields and calling her "stupid."
She also asserts that she's the one with financial success, not her partner. Papoose, however, retorted by accusing Remy of being a philanderer herself. He claimed he tried to calm things down privately for the sake of their daughter, but as the situation was unfurling publicly rapidly, he felt compelled to respond.
