All we know about Yvette Nicole Brown's wedding as she ties the knot with her longtime friend
Per People Magazine, Yvette Nicole Brown and Anthony Davis' "intimate, classy and fun" wedding ceremony hosted about 200 guests, and it took place at The Maybourne Beverly Hills. Per USA Today, this is Brown's first time saying "I do" and Davis' second. She told People Magazine:
"I'm not someone who really likes a lot of attention, and I realized there's a way that I could have a wedding where I made it more about other people, in the sense that because I am of a certain age and I never thought it would happen for me, my wedding can be an inspirational moment."
She also told the outlet how the first time she wore a wedding dress was for a Drake and Josh episode, and how it made her cry:
"I cried when I saw myself in the wedding dress, and the wardrobe woman thought I was crying because I looked so beautiful," Brown said. "First of all, I'm not that kind of chick to cry because I look beautiful … I was crying because I was like, 'This may be the only time I'm in a wedding dress.' And to realize that all these years later I was wrong and that I get to have my bridal moment as well, and my happy ending as well, it's amazing."
As for her real-life wedding dress, Yvette Nicole Brown opted for a mermaid gown by Ines Di Santo, the outlet reports.
"I saw the dress by Ines kind of peeking out of a rack, and I just put my hand on it and pulled it out. I said, 'What about this one? Can I try this one on?' And it was absolutely the dress," Brown said. "So it was found just on a whim, almost. It was just meant to be."
She also customized the dress to include two butterflies, a nod to her and Davis' mothers.
Per the outlet, Davis and Yvette Nicole Brown became friends in their twenties, though they fell out of contact over time. In 2021, they reconnected, when the former reached out in the wake of Brown's mother's passing.
