Wendy Williams, 60, grew up with two siblings, Wanda Williams and Thomas "Tommy" Williams Jr. Recently, her brother Thomas Jr. talked with Us Weekly about her present physical and mental health conditions.
In this exclusive chitchat, he revealed,
"She is in great shape mentally and physically."
While sharing more about the former talk show host, he added,
"Let her out."
Wendy Williams was imposed with a court-ordered guardianship in May 2022. The legal guardian was appointed to look after her health conditions and take charge of her finances, according to an AOL report. On Monday, she was seen asking for assistance and struggling to break free on her journey to liberation at her assisted living facility in New York. Following which, she was rushed to a hospital in the city for evaluation purposes.
Wendy Williams has two siblings
Wendy's father, Thomas Williams, and mother, Shirley Williams, raised three kids. Wendy spent a significant part of her life in the limelight, surrounded by glitz and glamour. However, her siblings preferred to stay far away from the fame and recognition, maintaining their privacy, according to a Yahoo report.
Her family was reportedly a part of Where Is Wendy Williams?, a documentary on the renowned host. Thomas Williams, Thomas Williams Jr., Kevin Hunter Jr. (her son), Wanda Finnie (her sister), Alex Finnie (her niece), and Travis Finnie (her nephew) are featured in different episodes.
In the lifetime documentary, Wendy's brother shared,
"This is something I wish we could have more of: Being around family."
Wanda Finnie also expressed her thoughts about her sister and family in this documentary.
"It has been a long journey in terms of the experience for our family and for Wendy. I hope to come out of this letting people see the love that we have as a family together for each other as well as the love we have for Wendy, and to understand the journey we’ve been through that has not always been perfect. Everyone wanted the same thing, which is to see Wendy healthy and happy."
Wendy Williams passed her tests
After she was escorted to the hospital, she had to undergo mental competency exams. Later, she revealed on The Breakfast Club,
"I passed with flying colors."
In a conversation with Us Weekly, Tommy emphasized that her sister has developed "some direction and understanding of her functional and cognizant abilities."
"It’s a win for Wendy, a big one. And she did it herself. It also shows she is fluid with her thoughts and actions".
Right now, "getting out of guardianship" is Wendy's "number one most important" priority.
