Singer and songwriter Garth Brooks has been hit with a lawsuit for rape and s*xual assault. The accuser, Jane Roe, in the lawsuit filed on October 3, 2024, alleged that the singer frequently commented about having "threesomes" with her and his wife, Trisha Yearwood.

Jane Roe worked as Brooks’ makeup artist and hairstylist since 2017 and had previously been hired to do Yearwood's makeup in 1999. She further claimed that Garth Brooks r*ped her, undressed in front of her, exposed his private parts, and openly discussed s*xual fantasies during several incidents in 2019.

The accuser further alleged that Trisha Yearwood overheard one of the threesome conversations. On another occasion, Brooks bragged about having s*x with multiple women of different races. Roe stated that she ceased working for him and relocated to Mississippi around May 2021.

In a statement to People Magazine, Garth Brooks spoke up:

“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face.”

The singer has been married to Trisha Yearwood, an American Country singer for nearly twenty years since 2005. Their relationship went back even further when they first met in 1987 and collaborated over the years before beginning to date in the early 2000s.

Garth Brooks filed a suit against Jane Roe a month ago

In his statement, Garth Brooks shared his trust in the system, his lack of fear regarding the truth, and his belief that he was not the person others have portrayed him as. He emphasized that hush money, regardless of the amount, still constituted it as accepting it implied an admission of behavior that the speaker is incapable of.

The statement explained that he filed a lawsuit against the individual nearly a month ago to address issues of extortion and defamation of character, doing so anonymously to protect the families involved on both sides.

Trisha Yearwood is Brooks' second wife. He was previously married to songwriter Sandy Mahl from 1986 to 2001 and has three adult daughters Taylor, August, and Allie. Garth Brooks proposed Yearwood onstage in May 2005 at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, California.

Later that year, they got married in a family ceremony at their home in Oklahoma. Garth Brooks mentioned during an interview that he first met Yearwood while he was still married to Mahl. They were introduced by musician Kent Blazy. The two won a Grammy in 1998 for In Another's Eyes.

However, Brooks stated that they didn't begin dating until after his divorce from Mahl. He took a break from music to care for his daughters, announcing his semi-retirement in 2000.
