Who is Trick Daddy’s ex-wife Joy Young? Age and more explored as rapper reveals he prefers younger women, sparks outrage

Maurice “Trick Daddy” Young and his son Jay recently appeared on Revolt TV’s The Baller Alert Show. The 51-year-old rapper made controversial remarks during his conversation with You Know BT. On being asked by the host, Trick also revealed his preferred age for dating women:

“From 22 to 35.”

The answer sparked outrage on social media against the artist, who was previously married to Amane Joy Burnett Young. Trick Daddy (then 30) and Joy reportedly married Joy in 2003, when she was around 26. Their marriage lasted almost 19 years and ended in 2022 after the Love & Hip Hop star divorced the rapper.

Joy Young is also a cousin of her Love & Hip Hop: Miami co-star, Trina. In 2019, the rapper even claimed to have paid Joy to divorce Trick Daddy on the show during an argument on camera.

In 2023, Trina and Young appeared on the We In Miami podcast, where the latter revealed that she parted ways with the Back by Thug Demand rapper after being “sick and tired of being sick and tired.”

During the chat, Trina also claimed that Joy didn’t like Tricky Daddy when they first met:

“She didn’t like the teeth, she didn’t like that he smoked, she didn’t like nothing.”

Joy Young, who is not divorced from Tricky, is CEO of New Roots Extensions and its other New Roots brands.

Tricky Daddy doesn’t date the women of his age group

Maurice Young talked about his dating life on The Baller Alert Show recently. The rapper claimed that he doesn’t prefer going out with the women of his age and said:

“I tried dating women my age… The hardest s*** in the world. They stuck in their f***ing ways. They wonder why they can’t keep them…”

On being reminded of the backlash, Trick Daddy continued his rant with multiple controversial remarks:

“I wouldn’t give a damn [on receiving outrage]. Old h***s need to lower their standards and realize that this… Unless you want an old… Unless they want a n**** that want they… Unless they want a swap out n****, that’s a swap out artist. Unless them b****es a yes man or a pay master. B**** I’m the sugar daddy with no sugar. Yeah sweet and low.”

He added:

“I’m not doing a… Whatever you don’t do, you don’t get paid for. Like, b**** stop always complaining. Like for real, them stuck in their way. I ask you, ‘Where you at?’ You ain’t my… I’m not your b**** I don’t hope I’m not your daddy b****.”

After being asked by You Know BT, Trick Daddy spoke about the women he is interested in dating:

“I want a b**** I could leave something. A b**** I could raise, ‘cause you can’t re-raise nobody. Somebody I can raise, somebody that appreciates me, somebody I could learn them something, you know, what I’m saying.”

He further explained:

“I like the young girls ‘cause they listen. Now, let me tell [you] I don’t like the young-minded ones. I don’t want a b**** I can tell anything to. I don’t want a b**** I can talk to any kind of way.”

Trick Daddy received online backlash after his comments

The rapper’s comments on dating women between the ages of 22 and 35 got him backlash on social media. As soon as an Instagram handle, @thejasminebrand, reported his opinion, users started commenting on the post:

“The delulu runs strong with this one,” a user wrote.

“Who gonna tell him🤣,” another user added.

“Young ladies … there you go 🤪🤣…. We good over here,” someone wrote jokingly.

“Respectfully they can have him!,” another one typed.

There were plenty of other comments trolling Trick Daddy for his remarks comparing relationships with older and younger women.
