Comedian Tracy Morgan experienced a sudden bout of ill health on Monday during the match between the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat on Monday. According to reports, the incident occurred in the third quarter of the game when the comedian fell ill and was later taken away in a wheelchair.
The unexpected illness caused concerns among fans of the beloved "30 Rock" actor, who later shared an update on Instagram. Morgan wrote that he had suffered from a severe case of food poisoning. In his Instagram post, he shared a picture from his hospital bed. He said:
"Thank you for all your concern! I’m doing ok now, and doctors say it was food poisoning. Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up. Appreciate you!”
He also added:
"More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court, so maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs #goknicks.”
He had undergone a kidney transplant in 2010. The actor has also been very vocal about his type II diabetes diagnosis.
A representative of the Madison Square Garden told People Magazine in a statement.
"We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside,"
Exploring Tracy Morgan's relationships
Tracy Morgan was first married to producer Sabina Morgan. The pair met in high school and tied the knot in 1987. They have three children, Gitrid, born 1986, Malcolm, born in 1988, and Tracy Jr., born in 1992. The couple allegedly filed for separation in 2001, and finalized their divorce in 2008.
Sabina passed away in 2016 following a cancer diagnosis. In 2019, Morgan honored his ex-wife when he hosted the ESPY Award in 2019:
"The main reason I really wanted to do it is the fight against cancer. I have an opportunity to fight their cause and I'm all in." said the actor in an interview with CBS.
Tracy Morgan dated Tanisha Hall for a while. She had donated one of her kidneys to him. Morgan revealed this information during a red-carpet interview at the 2011 SAG Awards.

"I’d like to thank Tanisha for donating my kidney to me,”
Tracy Morgan got engaged to Megan Woolover in 2012. According to People Magazine, the pair met through a blind date arranged by a mutual friend. They welcomed their only child, a daughter, Maven Sonae, in 2013 and later married in a private ceremony in August 2015.
Months before his marriage to Megan, the "Little Man" actor suffered a horrific car accident that left him in a coma for two weeks and resulted in the death of his friend, James McNair.
"After almost losing Tracy last year, I am so grateful to finally be married to the love of my life,” said Woolover in a statement to People Magazine.
In a 2020 statement issued to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedian announced that he and Megan had filed for divorce.
"Sadly, after nearly five years of marriage, Megan and I are filing for divorce. This is a challenging time for all involved, so I ask that you please respect our privacy,”
After his sudden illness on Monday, Tracy Morgan has yet to update his fans regarding his discharge from the hospital and is expected to take a break before resuming work.
