Who is Thea Booysen? All about MrBeast’s girlfriend amid couple’s engagement

Welcoming 2025, Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson has just revealed his "biggest collaboration yet" with Thea Booysen. The fan-favorite content creator announced his engagement to his longtime girlfriend, Thea Booysen, as they showed off the ring on Instagram.

According to People Magazine, the couple reportedly got engaged on Christmas day before making an official announcement on Instagram. The report further suggests that Jimmy and Thea plan to get hitched on an island in an intimate ceremony. Talking about the proposal, here's what Thea told People Magazine,

"My family flew out from South Africa for Christmas and we were going to do Christmas in our house so both families were here. We were opening presents, and then for the very last present he asked me to close my eyes because it was a surprise."

She added about the wedding ceremony,

"We're thinking of doing it somewhere on an island where we're far away from just about everybody. We're not going to try and have a big, extravagant wedding. It's going to be nice, but it's certainly going to be intimate [with] close family and friends."

For the uninitiated, Thea Booysen is also a YouTuber focused on creating video game-related content. She has been producing content for years while also writing a book in 2022.

Booysen is a South African YouTuber. Her channel is known as TheaBeasty. With over 38.5K subscribers, TheaBeasty primarily featured card game-related content. Besides YouTube, Booysen also has a Twitch account with 29.8K followers. In addition to content creation and streaming, Thea Booysen has also been an esports caster for the creator of The Witcher franchise and Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED.

Her gaming career commenced in 2016, but Booysen has also ventured into other fields. In January 2024, she was announced as one of the co-owners of Mixuh, a South African esports organization. Besides content creation and esports, she authored a young adult novel, The Marked Children, in 2022. Interestingly, the book took her seven years to get published.

On the educational front, Thea Booysen has a bachelor's degree in law and an honors degree in psychology. She also earned her Master's in neuropsychology from the University of Edinburgh in November 2024.
