Mickey Sumner, Sting's daughter, has just announced her engagement. The 41-year-old posted multiple pictures with her partner, Carter B. Smith to unveil the new chapter of her life.

Sumner is a professional actor known for her appearances in films like Mistress America, The Meyerowitz Stories, Marriage Story, and more. Mickey also appeared on dystopian thriller TV series Snowpiercer.

The show was based on Bong Joon Ho's Chris Evans starrer film and ended its run in 2024 after four seasons. Mickey Sumner will next be seen in HBO’s Task, which also stars Mark Ruffalo, Emilia Jones, and more, per IMDb.

Before starting her acting career, Sumner was enrolled at New York’s Parsons School of Design. She earned a BFA in Fine Art before turning to acting. Sumner told Interview Magazine in 2013:

“I got a BFA in Fine Art, and then I told my family I was going to be an actress. They were like, ‘What? Where is your fallback plan?’”

Speaking about her career choice, she also told the magazine:

“I was actually embarrassed to admit that I wanted to be an actor. I was really shy when I was a child, very self-conscious about taking up space or being an attention seeker. I was the kind of kid who was really good at homework.”

Before embarking on her acting career, Mickey briefly pursued modeling. In a 2013 interview with W Magazine, she jokingly said:

“I was once the world’s worst model.”

Mickey, aka Brigitte Michael Sumner, is one of Sting and Trudie Styler's four children. The Snowpiercer actress is the oldest among her siblings. She also has a half-brother and a half-sister from her father’s first marriage.

Before dating Smith, Mickey Sumner married the Quorum Earth founder/CEO, Chris Kantrowitz. They got engaged in 2016 and tied the knot next year. The former couple welcomed their only son, Akira Rogue Kantrowitz, in December 2016.

After four years of marriage, according to The Blast, the 41-year-old actress filed for a divorce with Kantrowitz.
