Another Luigi Mangione documentary is reportedly in the works and is being directed by the two-time Emmy nominee Stephen Robert Morse. Mangione is the suspected killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, and he was cuffed last week.

Stephen Robert Morse is most known for his work on the Netflix documentary Amanda Knox, as well as How to Rob a Bank. The latter is a documentary about the notorious bank robber Scott Scurlock, and the former earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. He can also be credited for having directed, produced, and written the film EuroTrump.

Here's what we know about Stephen Robert Morse's Luigi Mangione-based documentary

As reported by Variety, just earlier today, Jigsaw Prods, owned by Anonymous Content and Alex Gibney, affirmed that they will be producing their own documentary about the same. As reported by C21Media, the tentative name for the same is Who Is Luigi Mangione.

However, the outlet reports that Morse's documentary will follow the aftermath of the event and all those entangled in the case, including the victims, the families, and the suspected killer himself.

“This case is complex and raises important questions about vigilantism, the devastating cost of a privatized healthcare system, and the inevitability of violence when peaceful change is seen as impossible,” Morse told Deadline today. “My goal is to present a balanced exploration of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s assassination, showing all sides of the story while respecting the profound loss of life and its impact on everyone involved.”

He went on, noting that "Every story is multidimensional, and I believe in treating all participants with kindness and fairness. This approach has always been central to my projects."

Morse will be joined by Matt Cianfrani, the director of photography, as well as Hannah Ghorashi, an investigative journalist, and Eli Eisenstein, a fellow filmmaker. Morse also told Deadline that “This documentary will be memed,” noting that his goal is to “foster a deeper understanding” of the events and what led up to it.

The production team also took to Instagram recently to call on anyone- friends, family, coworkers, or acquaintances of those involved- to revert with tips on the case. They are also asking to get in touch with anyone willing to blow the whistle on UnitedHealthcare. They penned the following:

"If you have a story to share about your experience with Luigi Mangione, Brian Thompson, United Healthcare, or US health insurance generally, please get in touch with us! Relevant experts also welcome. DMs are open, and you can also email us at [email protected] We are a team of journalists and 2x Emmy-nominated filmmakers (credits include the Amanda Knox doc, EuroTrump, and Netflix’s How To Rob A Bank). We are working on a long-term documentary project about the Luigi Mangione case, and we’re looking to connect with people who can offer thoughtful, unique perspectives on this historic event in American history."

Luigi Mangione was apprehended just last week in Pennsylvania in connection with the fatal shooting of Brian Thompson on December 9. At the time, as reported by Deadline, the 26-year-old Ivy League graduate was found with a ghost gun on his person, and authorities claim it was akin to the one used in the murder.

He was also in possession of a handwritten note that critiqued the healthcare industry.
