Recently, he tested his luck with Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino in the romantic-drama film Queer. The movie premiered at the Venice International Film Festival on September 3, 2024, followed by its release in the United States on November 27, 2024. The movie bombed at the box office, as it was made on a budget of $50 million and it could only earn $4 million.

Following Queer's failure at the box, Daniel Craig allegedly got dropped out of the upcoming DC Studios' war film, Sgt Rock. As per reports, the movie was supposed to be directed by Luca Guadagnino. It would have been Craig's second project with Luca, after Queer.

However, it seems, as of now, that is out of the question. Having said that, it is still unclear why Craig had to drop out of the project. DC certainly made no comments yet.
