Sabrina Carpenter and Paul Simon kicked off SNL50: The Anniversary Special with their rendition of Simon & Garfunkel's song Homeward Bound, setting a memorable tone for the celebrations.

Simon wrote the song while he was one half of the legendary singing duo, Simon & Garfunkel, and the song first made an appearance on their hit 1966 album Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme.

As the Grammy-winning performers introduced each other before their performance, Simon pointed out that he had performed the same song with George Harrison back in 1976. This prompted Sabrina Carpenter to playfully remark that neither she nor her parents were born then.

This revelation has sparked curiosity among many fans. They want to know more about Sabrina Carpenter's parents.

Sabrina Carpenter's parents' age and other details revealed

The Please Please Please singer is the daughter of David and Elizabeth Carpenter. According to the Fandom Wiki page, her mother was born on June 19, 1964 (making her age 61 years), while her father was born on 23 December, 1961 (making his age 64 years). The two have been married since 1992.

The Carpenter family originally resided in Pennsylvania, before moving to Los Angeles to support Sabrina in pursuing her dreams. The couple have four daughters: Sarah, Cayla, Shannon, and Sabrina. Cayla is David's daughter from a previous relationship.

Both of her parents have had experience in artistic pursuits at some point in their lives. Sabrina's mother is a chiropractor at the Carpenter Family Chiropractic in East Greenville, Pennsylvania, as per a report in Life&Style that quotes her LinkedIn bio. In a 2018 interview to JJ Ryan, Sabrina had shared how her mother inspired her to take up dancing, adding that before she started her practice, her mother was a dancer in a company.

Her father on the other hand, was part of a garage band when he was younger and currently works as a chef. The Espresso singer said it was her father who had built her first-ever recording studio in a closet, when she was 10 years old.

Sabrina said:

"We used that one to make a recording studio for me as a baby so I could record YouTube videos, and it was really cute.He painted my entire studio purple, and put the foam walls up for me. It’s still there, but I don’t live in that house anymore.” adding that the studio was a place were she found comfort and could be herself.

Sabrina Carpenter's parents have been a constant source of support throughout her career, and the singer said her family has always encouraged her passion for performing.

She added that her family also played an integral role in fostering her ambitions, and that she felt encouraged to be around adults that believed in her.
