The Gone Girl star, Rosamund Pike, widely known for her eccentric and morally ambiguous characters in several psychological thriller films, was quite new to movie magic when she made her debut in Hollywood. Pike was just 22 when she landed her breakthrough role as the Bond girl, Miranda Frost, in Lee Tamahori's spy thriller Die Another Day, which was released in 2002.

In a recent conversation with David Tennant on his podcast, David Tennant Does a Podcast With, Pike talked about filming an intimate scene with Pierce Brosnan on the sets of Die Another Day in which she played the role of double agent, Miranda Frost. The British actress revealed an awkward moment with Brosnan while she was shooting a steamy love scene.

Pike recalled:

"I discovered things like nipple covers, and all the taping."

The 46-year-old actress, while shooting the scene, found herself in a tricky predicament. Pike then shared:

"We have this clinch, and then we separate, and I look at this body tape and the nipple covers and they're covered in hair. And I think, 'Oh my God, I'm waxing Pierce's chest.'"

Rosamund continued:

"I was so mortified. I thought, 'Oh my God, he's so brave, and I'm pulling off his chest hair with every embrace.' And of course, it took a couple of takes to realize it was not him. It was the fake fur of the rugs adorning the swan bed. I literally thought I was waxing the poor man's chest."

During the production of the movie, there was a significant age difference between Pike and Brosnan; however, the Bond girl described the 71-year-old Irish star and producer as "an absolute gent."

In a 2020 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rosamund revealed that even though she bagged the role of a Bond girl, she had never before watched a James Bond film. The I Care A Lot star, in the same interview, talked about her co-stars and praised them and said:

"Pierce was wonderful to me, (and) it was pretty phenomenal to meet Halle Berry. Her stature in the business seemed like she was on another planet, really, from me. It was when she was in her Oscar whirl and she'd just done that amazing performance in Monster's Ball and she seemed so glamorous."
