Reese Witherspoon has been spotted out and about New York City with Oliver Harmaan, a German financier. For the second time this month, they were spotted hanging out on September 4, at an Assouline opening event where Anna Wintour and Roger Federer were also in attendance. While neither has confirmed the status of their relationship, People reported that the two are dating.
On September 5, the outlet reported that according to multiple sources, the two are just "friends and it’s just casual." In March 2023, Witherspoon announced her divorce from Jim Toth after 11 years of marital life.
That evening, the actress was clad in a black dress and matching heels, with a coat adorned on her left arm. Harmaan, a divorcee himself, donned a light blue shirt, some khaki pants, and a navy blazer. Page Six papped the two walking hand-in-hand to an already-waiting SUV.
How did Oliver Haarmann and Reese Witherspoon meet?
The two first caught the public's eye while having dinner at L'Artusi in the West Village neighborhood on July 29, 2024. People had reported that the two were just "friends," and that Reese Witherspoon is just "taking things slow when it comes to dating."
Another source said,
"She enjoys it but doesn't want it to be a big focus. She's busy with work and her son. These are her biggest priorities."
No more details on how they met and how long they've been seeing each other.

Reese Witherspoon on Pretty Little Lies Season 3
Reese Witherspoon, known for Legally Blond, is currently working out the nitty gritties for Pretty Little Lies Season 3. However, she told The Hollywood Reporter in October 2022 that it could be a little tough, given director Jean-Marc Vallée’s passing. She said that it was "really hard" on the cast, and that it's "hard to imagine a future without him." However, not all hope is lost.
"But there is certainly a deep desire for all of us to connect and create those characters again. I’m not sure logistically how it could be done because everyone is so busy. It [certainly] couldn’t be done right away. Down the road? Maybe.”
In June 2024, Reese Witherspoon told Vanity Fair that she was excited about the prospect of a season 3.
“It’s OK, baby. I get excited too. Then I’ve got Laura calling me and Zoe and Shailene. They’re all like, ‘Nic said that we’re making Big Little Lies season three?’”
The release date for the Pretty Little Lies Season 3 has yet to be revealed. Season 3 of The Morning Show, where she works alongside Jennifer Anniston, is set to premiere on September 13, 2024.
