Nikki Glaser, the first solo female host of the Golden Globes, has won over the world with her witty and lively style of conducting the show on January 5, 2025. Glaser, a stand-up comic, actress, and television personality is best known for her roasts and hit shows that include Welcome Home Nikki Glaser? and FBoy Island. Her dating life draws public attention, too.
Glaser is reportedly dating television producer Chris Convy. The couple met for the first time in 2013 while working together on the late night talk show, Nikki & Sara Live.
Chris Convy has worked on high-profile productions such as the MTV Video Music Awards, Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and iHeartRadio Music Awards. In addition to live events, Convy is the brains behind popular TV specials including The Little Mermaid Live.
In an interview to Us Weekly, Glaser confessed she had a “crush from afar” on Convy:
"I just had a crush from afar for a really long time, which was so fun because I was just, like, pining for him constantly.”
She added that their equation "was very Jim and Pam [from The Office]," adding that Convy was her "first real boyfriend." It was their mutual sobriety and shared St. Louis roots that eventually drew them together.
Glaser and Convy have broken up several times in the last 10 years. Glaser said during a 2024 appearance on The Howard Stern Show that they had split at least five times, with periods lasting anywhere from a few days to three years.
Glaser has blamed their on-again, off-again relationship on her fear of long-term commitment. However as of 2024, Nikki Glaser and Chris Convy are firmly back together.
Nikki Glaser Makes History as the First Solo Female Host of the Golden Globe Awards
Nikki Glaser hosted the 82nd Golden Globes in an approach that catered to both the celebrity audience and viewers at home. The comedian made history as the first woman to host the Golden Globe Awards on her own.
With a combination of self-deprecation, Hollywood satire and low-stakes political jokes, her opening monologue set the tone for the ceremony. Glaser had been preparing the special speech for months, workshopping material in front of live audiences and working with a team of writers, according to Time magazine.
Her jokes involved celebrities such as Timothée Chalamet to whom she quipped:
"You have the most gorgeous eyelashes, on your upper lip."
She gave Zendaya a backhanded compliment, too, saying: "I woke up for all your scenes." Glaser did not hold back from taking shots at the streaming industry, too.
