It has been more than four years since Naya Rivera's tragic passing. Recently, she has been in the headlines due to her sister Nickayla Rivera who has been rumored to be dating her ex-brother-in-law Ryan Dorsey.
For the unversed, the Glee actress and Dorsey were married for four years before they parted ways in 2018. The two also had a son named Josey who now lives with his father. In July 2020, Naya Rivera went on a boat trip with her then-four-year-old son in Lake Piru, California. During the trip, she drowned in the lake as she was unable to get back on the boat which began to drift.
Following her death, rumors of her sister Nickayla and Ryan Dorsey having an affair made headlines. According to her Facebook page, Nickayla is a model. While she has over 129,000 followers on her Instagram profile, she has posted only one video of her dancing to calm music.
Less than a year after Naya Rivera's death, reports of Nickayla moving in with her sister's ex-husband came out. Naya's father George Rivera, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, cleared the air around the rumor and mentioned how Nickayla paused her life to take care of her nephew Josey.
He revealed how Josey asked his aunt to move in with him as she is the only person he has, closest to his mother.
In an Instagram story, Nickayla also mentioned that she was not bothered by how things looked as she was only concerned about her nephew.
Ryan Dorsey addresses dating rumors with his late ex-wife Naya Rivera's sister Nickayla
While it has been years since Ryan and Nickayla were linked together romantically, the Justified actor is now squashing all rumors. In an interview with People Magazine, he explained how Nickayla moved in with him after Naya Rivera's death to take care of her nephew. Dorsey would not be home due to his work and Nickayla looked after Josey. Dorsey said,
"wanted to keep [Josey's] life somewhat normal, and I knew I was going to be out of town working. I had to go to Vancouver for five months and Josey came the last month to stay with me, but during the time I was gone she held it down and kept that consistency."
While being grateful for Nickayla's efforts, he mentioned how she "served as somewhat of a female figure" in Josey's life. He further added that it was "surreal sometimes because the way she would say things to Josey would sound like his mom."

The rumors began when Dorsey and Nickayla were seen shopping together for Josey's birthday. Dorsey addressed the same and mentioned that he understands how they would have appeared to be a couple but that was not the case.
He also revealed how Josey has said "over and over" that he was trying to help his mother when she was drowning with a rope but he could not as he got scared of a big spider on it.
