Nathan Lane is gearing up for the premiere of his new Hulu series, Mid-Century Modern. The comedy, which brings together Lane with Matt Bomer and Nathan Lee Graham, is slated to debut on March 28, 2025. The sitcom revolves around three gay men who begin living together in Palm Springs after the death of a close friend.
Nathan Lane, the Tony award winning actor is married to Devlin Elliott. Lane and Elliott, who have been together for close to 27 years, tied the knot in 2015. The couple had got married in the City Hall of New York City. At the time, Lane’s representative had released a statement to People Magazine announcing the nuptials. The statement read:
“Nathan and Devlin were married in a small ceremony in New York City this week. Everyone is extremely happy”

While Lane and Elliott have largely kept their private life under wraps, there are some things we know about the happy couple. Both Nathan Lane and Devlin Elliott share a common love for theater. While Lane is a prominent stage actor other than being a well-known presence in the film and television industries, Elliott is a noted theater producer, playwright and writer.
According to Simon & Schuster’s profile of Elliott, the producer owns theater company Maberry Theatricals, Inc. As a playwright, Elliott has written the script for Broken, which was the ScreenCraft Stage Play Contest 2019 Finalist, as per New Play Exchange.
As per a report by Distractify, Elliott also featured in several small roles as an actor in television at one time. His credits include appearances in The X-Files, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Frasier.
Lane and Elliot have also worked together as writers on a children’s book series, Naughty Mabel. The Naughty Mabel books revolve around Mabel, a French bulldog modeled on the couple’s beloved pet. The first book of the series was released in 2015, as per USA Today. While in conversation with the news outlet, Nathan Lane described his and his partner’s impetus behind writing the book focused on a pampered dog. He spoke to USA Today about what what our beloved pets think about, saying,
“What’s going on in their head? If they could only talk, if they could only tell you what it is"
In the same interview, Elliott also spoke about their bulldog being like a child to the couple. He said,
"She’s become our version of a child. Really all she wants is for you to pick her up and hold her like a baby"

While receiving his third Tony award for Angels in America, Lane tearily spoke about how much his husband means to him. According to USA Today, Lane stood up on stage while giving his acceptance speech and said,
“And most importantly to my dear — oh, I'm a mess…to my dear husband, Devlin Elliott, the greatest blessing in my life.”
In a 2023 appearance on The View, Nathan Lane spoke about life with his husband, as per People Magazine. While speaking about how they celebrate Valentine’s Day, Lane said,
“In fact, my husband and I just said, 'Let's not do anything on Valentine's Day. It's about doing it every day,' that kind of appreciation”
Continuing, Lane spoke in a heartfelt way about Elliott, saying,
“But we've been together 25 years and he's the greatest person in the world and I couldn't get through my life without him”
Previously, Nathan Lane has been open about the struggles of coming out as a homos*xual man as well as facing homophobia. In a 1999 issue of The Advocate, Lane spoke about his journey of coming out to his mother, saying,
“I came out to my family when I was 21…The blood drained from her face, and she said [very deeply], ‘You mean you’re a homos*xual?’… ‘I would rather you were dead.’ I said, ‘Well, I knew you’d understand.’ And once I got her head out of the oven, everything went fine.”
Nathan Lane’s wide-ranging career in theatre, cinema and television is a testament to his adaptive acting prowess. As his fans wait anxiously to see him in Mid-Century Modern, the actor continues to deliver consummate performances year after year.
