Miriam Haley has testified against Harvey Weinstein in his ongoing r*pe retrial in Manhattan, New York.

According to the reports, she was the first of three accusers to take the witness stand, reiterating the allegations she made during his 2020 trial on April 29, 2025.

Haley is a former TV and movie production assistant. According to a report in the New York Times, she worked on Project Runway, which was produced by Weinstein’s company.

She reportedly met the 73-year-old for the first time in London in 2004 when he was a Hollywood film producer, at the after-party for the movie premiere of The Aviator. They met for a second time at the Cannes Film Festival in France. She said they agreed to meet at a hotel for work purposes, as Haley was looking for an opportunity to work as a production assistant in New York.

Weinstein has consistently pleaded not guilty to all sexual assault charges, maintaining his innocence across both his original 2020 trial and the ongoing retrial. Here is what we know about the case.

What did Miriam Haley tell the court as she testified against Harvey Weinstein in the retrial?

During Harvey Weinstein’s ongoing retrial in Manhattan, Miriam Haley testified about an alleged s*xual assault by Weinstein in July 2006 at his New York City apartment.

As she recalled her horrific past, defense lawyers carefully listened to her ordeal. Assistant District Attorney Nicole Blumberg asked her to identify Mr. Weinstein when she pointed in his direction. She asked her if she had any interest in him “romantically or s*xually," and she denied, saying, “No, I did not. I was there to try and find work.”

She told the court that when she went to meet Weinstein on the sidelines of the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, she was trying to gain employment. But he commented on his legs and asked for a massage:

She replied,

“I felt taken aback, humiliated.”

Still, he arranged for her to work on Project Runway even though she lacked a U.S. work visa. Haley will be on the stand again on April 30, 2025, to reprise her 2020 testimony about the alleged assault.

According to a report in Variety, Haley’s former roommate, Elizabeth Entin, and her close friend, Christine Pressman, testified in Weinstein’s 2025 retrial on April 24, 2025. Entin recalled that Haley confided in her during the summer of 2006 about the alleged s*xual assault. She described her demeanour as “very unfocused” and “anxious,” noting that she stood awkwardly at her doorway.

She told the court that Haley looked “shaken” and further said that Weinstein forcibly performed oral s*x on her roommate.

“He r*ped my friend, and I am not happy about that. I told her to call a lawyer to navigate the system. I despise anyone who has r*ped my friend. She is not my only friend that has been r*ped.” Entin said.

While Pressman told the court:

“I was staying at Lorne Michaels’ house in East Hampton, and Miriam was there, as well. She was distraught, crying, very upset, obviously; she was very animated and had a lot of intensity. She said it’s Harvey Weinstein. She was in shock. She described what happened, and it was disgusting.”
While Entin advised her to call the lawyers, Pressman told her to stay silent, she told her, that “she should not to go to police or the authorities about being r*ped by Harvey Weinstein.”

Assistant District Attorney Shannon Lucey told the court that Weinstein was a serious s*xual predator who used his power as "a titan" in the movie industry to prey on young women. She added, referring to the accusers, that they stayed quiet for years as they were afraid of what he might do to them.
