Late first black Republican congresswoman Mia Love's husband Jason Love worked in software, to make sure that the couple was not completely dependent on Mia's political career.

As per a 2015 interview with Deseret, Jason worked as an executive vice president of Xactaware, a software company in Lehi. Mia Love's death was announced by her family on March 23.

Love died at the age of 49, after she was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a malignant brain tumor in 2022. Loe served as the US representative for Utah's 4th congressional district from 2015 to 2019 and made history as the first Black person elected to Congress from Utah. She's also the first Haitian-American in Congress, and the first Black Republican woman to serve.

The two met after Love converted to the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints in 1998 where Jason served as an LDS missionary in Connecticut. The two tied the knot in December, 1998, and moved to American Fork in Utah and then to Saratoga Springs.

While talking about living in a predominantly white neighborhood with Deseret, Jason mentioned that people had been good to them.

"We're in a good place in America. Race relations are good. Look, we've got Barack Obama as president and Mia Love has just been elected to Congress. Skin color is like eye and hair color. The people of Utah have been amazing."
