Lotlot De Leon penned a heartfelt post dedicated to her mother, Nora Aunor, as the celebrated Filipino movie star passed away at 71. The 53-year-old shared a picture of her late parent and wrote,
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nora Aunor, our beloved mother, celebrated television and movie actress, and a true National Artist of the Philippines.”
Talking about the influence Nora Aunor had on the Philippine cinema and audience, Lotlot De Leon continued,
“She touched generations with her unmatched talent, grace, and passion for the craft. Her voice, presence, and artistry shaped a legacy that will never fade. ‘She was a star not only on screen, but in the hearts of many—and stars like hers never stop shining.’”
Lotlot De Leon is the adoptive daughter of the late Filipino superstar, and like her mother, she is also an actor. The actress was born in March 1972 to Eva Rodriguez and Donald Olson, a US Navy veteran. Lotlot, whose real name is Charlotte, was adopted by the actor couple Nora Aunor and Christopher De Leon.
Per her IMDb page, De Leon has over a hundred acting credits, with her last project being an action-drama series, Lavender Fields. On the personal front, Lotlot is a mother of four – three daughters and a son. Her eldest daughter, Janine, is an actress who co-starred with her on Lavender Fields.
Lotlot De Leon has been married twice. Her first marriage to Ramon Christopher Gutierrez lasted 17 years, while she tied the knot with Fadi El Soury in 2018. The Love in 40 Days actress, who seemingly shared a great bond with her adoptive mother, also reunited with her biological parents on separate occasions.
Lotlot De Leon had a reunion with her biological parents on different instances, years after getting adopted
The Write One actress, adopted by the legendary Filipino superstar Nora Aunor, met her biological parents separately on different occasions. In a 2013 interview, Janine Gutierrez told the Inquirer about her grandfather, Donald Olson, who was a part of the US Navy. She revealed that her mother, Lotlot De, met her dad in Chicago in 2012,
“When something unexpected happens, you can’t help feeling glad and thankful. I am happy for my mom. All her life she had been searching for her father. She visited him in the United States last year.”
Lotlot De Leon also spoke to the newspaper while recounting,
“I knew his name so I Googled him seven years ago. There are lots of Donald Olsons out there, so I asked the help of former Sen. Richard Gordon of Subic. I wrote my dad a letter and was so happy when he responded.”
In 2017, Lotlot shared pictures with her biological mother and wrote about the reunion,
“Thank you, Mama Eva... ❤️ ‘But there's a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother's story, because hers is where yours begin.’- Mitch Albom”
Lotlot De Leon is one of the five children of late Filipino superstar Nora Aunor
Nora Aunor married Christopher De Leon in 1975, a marriage that lasted nearly 21 years. They welcomed their only biological child, Ian, in 1975 and adopted four kids – Matet, Lotlot, Kiko, and Kenneth. Like their parents, all kids found careers in show business.
According to IMDb, Ian De Leon has acted in 50 projects, while Matet has appeared in 85 productions as an actor. Kenneth (credited as John Kenneth De Leon) has done writing for many TV series, including Slay (as head writer), which stars his adoptive sister, Matet.
